Stroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology, the new Open-Access journal jointly published by American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, and the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, has appointed Dr. Ashutosh P. Jadhav as the inaugural editor-in-chief of the journal.
Announced in October 2020, the new peer-reviewed scientific journal will be produced bi-monthly, available online-only and all papers will be Open Access. Manuscripts are being accepted for the first issue publishing in November 2021 and will focus on reporting clinical, translational and basic sciences research on interventional, endovascular, medical and surgical management of stroke and vascular disease of the brain, spinal cord, and head and neck. Imaging, video illustrations, case reports, innovative technique, angiographic anatomy, clinicopathological correlation, medical devices, technical advances and review papers are also welcomed.
Jadhav is a vascular and interventional neurologist at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. His expertise includes the medical and endovascular care of patients who have had a stroke, and he is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His research interests include treatment approaches and patient outcomes after a stroke due to large-vessel occlusion, workflow optimization in the acute stroke population and endovascular device development.
Jadhav has been an active member of several societies, including the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, where he serves on the Stroke Council and recently served as the section editor for interventional treatments for the Stroke journal. He also serves on the board of directors for the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology. Additionally, Jadhav has previously served as an associate editor for several journals including the Journal of Neuro-Interventional Neurosurgery, Frontiers in Neurology and Stroke and Vascular Neurology.
