Dr. Bibiana Campos-Seijo to head Chemical & Engineering News as vice president and editor-in-chief -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Bibiana Campos-Seijo will head Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN) as vice president and editor-in-chief. She will begin her duties at ACS’ weekly newsmagazine in December 2014.

Campos-Seijo completed her Ph.D. in chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004. Since then, she has gained experience in writing, editing and publishing. She previously served as editor-in-chief of Pharmaceutical Technology Europe, a monthly magazine published by Advanstar Communications UK. Currently, she is editor and publisher of the Royal Society of Chemistry's magazine Chemistry World and oversees the production of two additional magazines.

C&EN is the weekly newsmagazine and the official organ of ACS. It goes to all ACS members and is described as a key benefit of membership. Its audited circulation is approximately 130,000, and it is delivered in print and electronic formats. Its staff of 50 full-time editors, reporters, designers and web content providers are located at ACS headquarters in Washington, D.C., and in field offices in New York City; Berlin, Germany; Berkeley, California; Pasadena, California; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Houston; and Hong Kong.
