Dr. Henry VanBrocklin named Editor-in-chief of the journal Molecular Imaging -

Decker Publishing and the Society of Nuclear Medicine have announced that Dr. Henry VanBrocklin has accepted the position of Editor-in-chief of the journal Molecular Imaging. He succeeds Dr. Martin G. Pomper, who served as Editor-in-chief for over four years.

In his new position, VanBrocklin is expected to enhance the excellence of the journal's offerings and continue its scientific and international reputation while evolving the journal in step with the discipline. His tenure will commence January 2012 with Volume 11 of the journal.

VanBrocklin is a professor in residence and the director of radiopharmaceutical research of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California San Francisco, where he also leads the nuclear optical imaging section and oversees operations of the medical cyclotron and small animal imaging facilities. He has nearly 25 years experience in the fields of radiopharmaceutical chemistry and molecular imaging.

VanBrocklin is an active member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, where he has served as president of the Center for Molecular Imaging Innovation and Translation, as well as the Academy of Molecular Imaging (AMI), the Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (SRS) and the American Chemical Society.

Published by Decker Publishing and sponsored by the Society of Nuclear Medicine, Molecular Imaging is dedicated to the publication of early preclinical research. The journal especially focuses on molecular- and cellular-level discoveries and non-nuclear techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, ESR or EPR microscopy, optical imaging, intravital microscopy, diffuse optical tomography and other methods that elucidate molecular and cellular mechanisms and accelerate understanding of biology.
