Academic publisher SAGE has announced that Dr. Jeff Burr has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Research on Aging (ROA), an international journal from SAGE that publishes research on the critical issues that face today's elderly population. Dr. Burr will be replacing Dr. Debra Parker Oliver, who was editor-in-chief of ROA from 2010.
In addition to his role as a Professor of Gerontology at the John W. McCormack Graduate School of policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Dr. Burr is also a Fellow in the UMass Boston Gerontology Institute, a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America (Behavioral and Social Sciences Section) and a member of Sigma Phi Omega (the national Gerontological honour society). He has also been a frequent reviewer of manuscripts submitted to Research on Aging over the years and has published a number of scientific papers in the journal, beginning in 1990.
A thoroughly peer-reviewed journal, Research on Aging publishes the best research on a variety of different issues facing today's elderly such as Alzheimer's disease and caregiver support, age discrimination and inequality, the aging labour force, retirement satisfaction, and social support.
