Dr. Kathleen G. Burke named Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development -

The Journal for Nurses in Professional Development (JNPD), published in the Lippincott portfolio by Wolters Kluwer, has announced the appointment of Dr. Kathleen G. Burke as Editor-in-Chief, effective January 2019.

Dr. Burke is the corporate director of nursing professional development and innovation and the Co-Director for Continuing Interprofessional Education for the University of Pennsylvania Health System. She is also an Advanced Senior Lecturer within Penn's School of Nursing and a Senior Fellow of Penn's Leonard David Institute of Health Economics. Under her leadership, Dr. Burke created a system wide CCNE accredited nurse residency program. She also launched The Distinguished Nurse Clinician Academy in 2016.

Dr. Burke continues to generate research and create innovative ways and best practices for educating nurses in a practice setting.

The Journal for Nurses in Professional Development is a specialised source of information for professional staff development and patient educators in all healthcare settings and publishes six issues a year. The journal provides educators with information on planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities; administration of professional development departments; research in the specialty; technological or other innovations; and issues in professional development and patient education that may influence the field.
