Dr. Khurram Nasir appointed Editor-in-Chief of AJPC -

The American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC) has named Dr. Khurram Nasir as the incoming Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology (AJPC), effective January 1, 2026.

Dr. Nasir currently leads the cardiovascular prevention program at Houston Methodist and holds academic appointments at Weill Cornell and the Houston Methodist–Rice University Digital Health Institute. With over 1,000 peer-reviewed publications, his work focuses on digital health, risk prediction, health equity, and implementation science in preventive cardiology.

He will succeed Drs. Erin Michos and Nathan Wong, who co-led AJPC during its early development and recent impact factor milestone of 5.9. Under Dr. Nasir’s leadership, the journal will aim to expand its reach and impact, advancing original research and clinical practice in cardiovascular prevention.

Founded in 2020 by ASPC, AJPC serves a global readership of researchers, clinicians, and policymakers. It publishes peer-reviewed research and reviews addressing behavioral and clinical aspects of cardiovascular disease prevention, including obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes.
