The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy and scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group, UK, have announced the appointment of Dr. Malcolm K. Brenner, as Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Therapy.
Dr. Brenner, Director of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy at Baylor College of Medicine, studies immunotherapy and gene therapy as applied to cancer research. He conducted one of the first human gene therapy studies at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. He brings this history of research experience to the journal, together with past experience as President of the International Society for Cellular Therapy and President of the American Society of Gene Therapy in 2002 - 2003.
Launched in 2000, Molecular Therapy is the official journal of the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy. The journal publishes independently peer-reviewed research and cutting-edge reviews and commentaries that promote the sciences in genetics, medicine and biotechnology. With a newly appointed board of deputy editors, the journal claims to be well-placed to maintain its standing as a valued resource for scientists dedicated to the understanding, development and application of gene and related cell and nucleic acid therapies.
