Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism (APNM) and its publisher, Canadian Science Publishing (CSP), have announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Harding as the new Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Dr. Harding will join Dr. Philip Chilibeck in leading the editorial team.

Dr. Harding, an Associate Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at Memorial University, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. His research spans various aspects of cardiometabolic diseases, including glucose metabolism, cholesterol biochemistry, and the impact of public health policies on obesity and chronic disease in Newfoundland and Labrador. His lab employs a range of methodologies, from animal and in vitro models to human trials and population studies, to explore the metabolic effects of dietary sugars and fats, as well as the influence of lifestyle factors such as sleep and physical activity on nutrition and nutrient metabolism.

Before joining Memorial University, Dr. Harding held an academic position at King’s College London. At Memorial, he teaches in the Human Biosciences program within the Faculty of Science, focusing on how diet and lifestyle choices affect health and disease.

As a long-standing Associate Editor of APNM, Dr. Harding is well-acquainted with the journal's mission and goals. In his new role, he will collaborate with Dr. Philip Chilibeck and the editorial board to further advance the journal’s contributions to the fields of physiology, nutrition, and metabolism.
