Drexel University launches Post-Master's Library & Information Science Specialist Programs -

Internet-based distance education programmes provider Drexel University Online, US, has increased its continuing education options for librarians through four new post-master’s Library and Information Science Specialist Programs from The iSchool at Drexel. The Competitive Intelligence and Knowledge Management, Archival Studies, Digital Libraries and Youth Services programs build upon Drexel’s master’s in Library and Information Science. Students can learn anytime and anywhere with 24/7 online access to class materials, group discussion, instructor feedback and exams.

The post-master's specialist program in Competitive Intelligence and Knowledge Management focuses on identifying and satisfying information needs to support critical activities in special libraries, corporate libraries, and other organisational settings. The post-master’s specialist program in Archival Studies seeks to meet the needs of students who want to gain the skills necessary to work with archival records and papers in all formats.

The post-master's specialist program in Digital Libraries prepares professionals to work with digital library systems, digital resources, collections and services in a variety of settings, including academic, public and special libraries. Courses focus on designing digital library interfaces, organising and accessing digital collections, and using appropriate and cutting-edge technologies. The Youth Services program focuses on the information needs of children and teens and on the design and provision of information services to meet those needs.
