Knowledge management and discovery software developer Collexis, US, has announced that the Delft University of Technology Library, Netherlands, has selected Collexis' Basic Search software to empower its TUlib Instruction programme.
Collexis High Definition Search 6.0 enables significant knowledge retrieval and discovery quickly and accurately by utilising fingerprinting technology. The Collexis Fingerprint empowers users to immediately identify and search for documents, experts, trends and new discoveries more quickly and accurately than conventional search engines. The TU Delft Library joins other university libraries such as Mayo Clinic Libraries, Wageningen Universiteit Library, Johns Hopkins and Erasmus University Library that have opted for the software.
The TUlib Instruction programme needed to improve its library search software in terms of user friendliness and productivity. The implementation of the Collexis software provides these benefits to the user community by guiding users to the appropriate 'entrance/path' either by clicking on relevant words or entering a question into a search box. Following this, an appropriate entry is suggested. If the results are not specific enough, additional search suggestions are offered.
