A grant from DynaMed will enable healthcare professionals to continue to have the opportunity to learn from interesting and instructive infectious disease cases. The EBSCO Health resource has made a donation to support the Partners Infectious Disease Images website, a free database for healthcare trainees and providers that contains thousands of clinical images and hundreds of in-depth cases.
The Partners ID Images digital library was developed with a grant from the National Library of Medicine, and includes cases and images from contributors throughout the world. The site was developed by faculty of the Infectious Disease Division of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the Ragon Institute of MGH, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard. The site is run by Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Rajesh T. Gandhi and Managing Editor Dr. Alice M. Cort, both of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston.
The DynaMed editorial team comprises experts in a variety of fields, including infectious diseases. Deputy Editor for Infectious Diseases for DynaMed, Dr. Sheila Bond, facilitated the grant to ensure that this resource is able to continue to grow and be freely available to the public.
DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other healthcare professionals for use at the point-of-care. It is projected as an indispensable resource for answering most clinical questions by providing the latest content and resources with validity, relevance and convenience. It provides educators with a resource that supports medical education goals, encourages trainees to access the original research, and provides guidance on diagnosis and treatment options while preserving and supporting the essential learning opportunities that educators want to provide.
