The European Association of Science Editors (EASE) has unveiled an updated version of its Author Forms through an editorial in the European Science Editing journal, authored by Ksenija Bazdaric, Joan Marsh, and Duncan Nicholas. The new EASE Interactive Checklist for Submitting Authors aims to streamline and enhance the manuscript submission process for journal editors and publishers.
The innovative checklist integrates the individual EASE Form for Authors’ Contributions and Conflict of Interest Disclosure with the EASE Ethics Checklist for Authors into a single, user-friendly form. It features check-box responses, up-to-date questions, and terminology based on the CRediT – Contributor Roles Taxonomy, making it easier for authors to complete.
The editorial provides comprehensive details about the new form, its purpose, and its role in improving the efficiency and integrity of journal submission processes. The EASE Interactive Checklist is designed to simplify the submission process for authors while ensuring that all necessary information is accurately provided.
EASE encourages all journal editors to adopt the new checklist to enhance their submission processes. The association hopes that this new tool will be beneficial for both editors and authors, facilitating a smoother and more efficient manuscript submission experience.
