EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that East Central University (ECU) has chosen EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) as its discovery service. With relevancy-ranked results, an abundant amount of customisation options and a comprehensive one-stop discovery experience, EDS is a tool that allows ECU students to focus on the quality of the information found rather than spending time and energy on searching multiple resources.
In looking for a discovery service, East Central University wanted a better qualified search experience for its users that removed the need to search individual databases which often overwhelmed users. Dana Belcher, Assistant Library Director at ECU says "We wanted to find a service that would remove the barrier of having to figure out which databases to search so the library becomes a bit less scary and more familiar and user-friendly. ECU has taken advantage of many customizable options in EDS to make the user experience unique. The library has modified the limiters and facets, created customized profiles based on majors and adjusted the colours and branding to reflect its own school webpage.
