Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group® has announced that Sherrod Library at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and Northeast State Community College (NeSCC) have together selected a suite of Ex Libris solutions, comprising Alma® resource management solution, the Primo® discovery and delivery solution, and the bX® article recommender service. ETSU is replacing a number of legacy systems including Innovative Interfaces Sierra.
ETSU's Sherrod Library selected Alma and Primo to provide an integrated platform for discovery, linking, electronic resource management, and traditional library system functions, all delivered via the cloud. The solutions' cloud-based architectures ensure that library staff members are freed from routine maintenance, while new functionality is regularly made available without the need for upgrades to be performed on-site.
The library was also keen to adopt a solution that would integrate with third-party systems for authentication, online courses, and procurement. Having used the Ex Libris SFX® OpenURL link resolver for several years, ETSU was confident that the company's support and hosting services would be provided at a consistently high standard.
