Content technology and consultative services provider EBSCO has announced that EBSCO A-to-Z customers who do not already have a link resolver can now offer the benefits of OpenURL linking to help their users locate full text in the library's collection.
Links can be easily integrated with sites like PubMed and Google Scholar so that users can link from the citation to gain access to the full-text article. If the required article is in a subscribed EBSCOhost full-text database or within an e-journal subscribed to through EBSCO, the user is taken directly to the full text. For other titles, the user is presented with the A-to-Z title details list from which they can navigate to the appropriate full text. All of this is available at no additional charge to EBSCO A-to-Z customers.
While this new EBSCO A-to-Z feature is not a replacement for LinkSource, EBSCO's full-featured OpenURL link resolver, it offers libraries that cannot afford a link resolver an economical way to enjoy some of the benefits.
