EBSCO adds CE modules to clinical reference tool for rehab therapists -

Database and e-books aggregator EBSCO Publishing, US, has announced that it has added continuing education (CE) modules to Rehabilitation Reference Center (RRC), an evidence-based clinical reference tool for use by rehabilitation clinicians at the point-of-care. Nineteen CE modules are currently included in Rehabilitation Reference Center and there are plans to increase that number over time.

The CE modules are designed to assist physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists satisfy their CE credits online. Each CE module consists of course material, an interactive review and a competency test with a certificate of successful completion. The modules can be accessed by clicking on the "New Continuing Education Modules" link in the Spotlight section of RRC.

CINAHL Information Systems, a division of EBSCO Publishing, has obtained accreditation for the physical therapy courses from the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and the Florida State Board of Physical Therapy. In addition, 24 US states recognise accreditation in other states. EBSCO plans to seek accreditation in other states where CE for physical therapists is required.

CINAHL is an accredited continuing education provider from the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). The accrediting bodies for occupational therapy and speech therapy, AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) and ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) respectively, accept CE from IACET providers. Thus occupational therapists and speech therapists across the US can take these CEs for supporting their licensure.
