EBSCO Clinical Decisions appoints Scott Silvers as Chief Clinical Innovations Officer -

EBSCO Clinical Decisions has appointed Scott Silvers, MD, FACEP, as Chief Clinical Innovations Officer to lead strategic initiatives advancing evidence-based care and knowledge-driven systems. In this role, Silvers will focus on building strategies, platforms, and partnerships to improve outcomes, reduce variability, and promote equitable access to high-value care.

Silvers, a recognized leader in emergency medicine and healthcare transformation, brings over two decades of experience in clinical excellence, knowledge management, and systems innovation. He joins EBSCO Clinical Decisions from Optum Health, where he served as Chief Medical Officer of Knowledge Management and led national efforts in quality and patient safety. He spent over 20 years at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where he co-developed Ask Mayo Expert, the institution’s foundational knowledge management platform supporting its clinical decision support infrastructure.

Silvers has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 100 international lectures. He also serves as co-director of the International Clinical Decision-Making in Emergency Medicine Conference and chairs the American College of Emergency Physicians evidence-based Clinical Policies Committee. In addition, he is a member of the American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee, contributing to national resuscitation guidelines.

His appointment follows the recent naming of Roy Ziegelstein, MD, MACP, as new Editor-in-Chief of DynaMed, reflecting EBSCO Clinical Decisions’ commitment to strengthening its clinical leadership and expertise in decision support.
