EBSCO Industries, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Hallmark Data Systems, a circulation fulfillment provider for the B2B sector, for an undisclosed amount.
Previously owned by private equity firm Tinicum Capital Partners, Hallmark Data Systems services over 400 titles. Post acquisition, the company will run as an autonomous business unit within EBSCO Industries, retaining its brand and all current employees and clients. EBSCO's diverse offerings - such as its telemarketing operations - are seen to be beneficial to Hallmark clients.
EBSCO has partnerships with more than 78,000 publishers and already provides fulfillment services in the medical, science and academic sectors. The company is diversified into over 40 businesses. These include journal article databases, subscription services, manufacturing of fishing lures and real estate development. The company is heavily focused on acquisition as part of its business strategy.
