EBSCO Information Services becomes NASIG's first organisational member -

Information services provider EBSCO, US, has been accepted as the first organisational member of The North American Serials Interest Group, Inc. (NASIG). In this capacity, EBSCO will support the continuing education on serials, electronic resources and standards issues that affect libraries, publishers and vendors.

As an organisational member, EBSCO may designate three individuals as NASIG members. To serve as its organisational members to NASIG, EBSCO has selected Kittie Henderson, M.L.S., director, academic and law divisions, EBSCO; Allyson Zellner, M.L.I.S., training specialist, EBSCO; and Dave Kerin, vice president of sales, North America, EBSCO.

Membership benefits include the right to vote in NASIG elections and discounts on conferences and webinars hosted by NASIG. Members also receive reduced rates on events hosted by partner organisations, such the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) and the United Kingdom Serials Group (UKSG).

NASIG, established in 1985, holds an annual conference for its members and those concerned about issues affecting the scholarly information chain. This year, the conference is scheduled for June 2-5, 2011, in St. Louis.
