EBSCO Information Services introduces Global PatentsTM, database makes patent searching available enterprise-wide -

EBSCO Information Services has introduced Global Patents™ to enable R&D teams and corporate librarians to quickly determine the novelty of an idea or technology across the broadest set of content available. The online resource opens up a wealth of patent information to researchers and operational professionals.

Updated monthly, Global Patents includes more than 77 million patent records — with over 29 million in full text — from more than 100 patent authorities around the world. R&D specialists can combine Global Patents with EBSCO's vast collection of STM content to create comprehensive research landscapes and analyze the novelty of a given development opportunity.

Researchers access content via the EBSCOhost® or EBSCO Discovery Service™ platforms, or directly within their company’s intranet. Because the content is designed to be accessible for all user types, it provides a jumping-off point for all levels of researchers — especially those on R&D teams who may not have a great deal of experience with complex patent searching. Using Global Patents, R&D teams can access the information they need to assess the viability of new projects without having to enlist premium patent search services — saving the organisation valuable time and money.
