EBSCO Information Services unveils Mosaic by GOBI Library Solutions, streamlining book acquisitions for libraries -

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has officially launched Mosaic, a new book ordering platform created in collaboration with GOBI Library Solutions. Designed to enhance and modernize the book acquisition process, Mosaic integrates the strengths of GOBI and EBSCOhost Collection Manager (ECM) with a streamlined, user-friendly interface aimed at improving efficiency for libraries.

Built in partnership with over 30 libraries, consortia, and publishers, collectively known as Innovation Partners, the platform draws on global input to meet a wide range of library needs. This collaboration has resulted in a robust system that supports seamless acquisition workflows for libraries of all sizes. Early adopters have provided valuable feedback, ensuring that the platform remains user-focused as it continues to develop.

Mosaic is now live, offering librarians an efficient discovery and firm order workflow for e-books from providers such as EBSCO eBooks, IGI Global, JSTOR, and Taylor & Francis. The platform guarantees pricing transparency, quick order acknowledgements, rapid fulfillment, and proxied access URLs via email. Additionally, it simplifies order history and invoicing, helping librarians track purchases, avoid duplication, and receive MARC records for cataloging.

Looking ahead, Mosaic plans to roll out more features, including print book ordering, ILS integration, and advanced reporting tools, making it a comprehensive tool for libraries.
