EBSCO Publishing named to InformationWeek 500 list -

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO), US, has been named to this year's InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation's most innovative users of business technology. This is the second year in a row that EBSCO has achieved this recognition. The annual list was revealed earlier this week at a gala awards ceremony at the exclusive InformationWeek 500 Conference which took place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, CA.

EBSCO was ranked 203rd on this year's InformationWeek 500 – a list of the top technology innovators in the US. EBSCO Publishing provides online research databases -more than 350 learning and reference products - to corporations, universities, libraries and other institutions worldwide.

EBSCO earned its ranking on this year's InformationWeek 500 for a development enabling libraries to benefit from the improved integration of content through a unified interface. EBSCO released e-books and audiobooks via EBSCOhost in order to better serve the needs of library end users and also offer end users ease of access along with a familiar, powerful user experience.

By integrating e-books into EBSCOhost, EBSCO brought these essential resources to a familiar and easy to use interface to meet the needs of any library - from the serious academic researcher looking for the latest information on a subject who will now see e-books integrated with periodical content to the public library patron looking for an e-book or audiobook to download to the latest mobile device. EBSCO will continue its goal to develop an e-book service that provides the best user experience and unparalleled content along with the most flexible acquisition and licensing arrangements.

InformationWeek identifies and honours the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
