Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing, US, has released a new resource called Fonte Académica, offering a rapidly growing collection of scholarly journals from Brazil and Portugal. This new EBSCOhost database seeks to provide more international full text coverage for Portuguese-language content.
Fonte Académica includes over 125 full text Portuguese-language journals and continuously expanding archives from Brazil and Portugal. With comprehensive indexing of every article and detailed abstracts in multiple languages, the database claims to be an indispensable tool for students and researchers. Search functionality has been enhanced through the incorporation of author-supplied keywords in Portuguese. Users of Fonte Académica are provided with coverage of all major subject areas with particular emphasis on agriculture, biological sciences, economics, history, law, literature, medicine, philosophy, psychology, public administration and sociology.
Apart from Fonte Académica, EBSCO recently released two databases - Fuente Académica and Fuente Academica Premier – to expand its international coverage. These databases feature scholarly journals from Latin America, Portugal and Spain.
