EBSCO to provide enhanced integration and linking services to over 23,000 e-journals -

Information services provider EBSCO, US, has announced that it has increased the number of e-journals available for end-to-end integration and enhanced linking to more than 23,000. With this move, EBSCO seeks to simplify e-resource management for those journals subscribed to through EBSCO.

With end-to-end integration, holdings details for journals acquired through EBSCO are automatically updated in other EBSCO access tools, and that integration can be extended to library catalogues via the EBSCO MARC Updates service and other knowledge bases through a simple download. The enhanced linking and access services for e-journals, which include such features as durable URLs, integrated table of contents browsing and pre-authenticated access to full text, help libraries expose users to more subscribed e-journal content.

This state-of-the-art integration also applies to additional e-resource details that are managed in the EBSCO Integrated Knowledge Base. For instance, license details, terms and conditions, registration information, and more are shared between EBSCONET Subscription Management and EBSCONET ERM Essentials, allowing librarians who use EBSCO e-resource management solutions to significantly reduce the time spent on data-entry. Libraries that use EBSCO to manage their e-journals and e-package subscriptions benefit from a number of linking and access solutions at no additional charge.
