EBSCO upgrades clinical reference tool DynaMed -

Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing has announced upgrades to DynaMed, its clinical reference tool. Persistent links, an extension of the EBSCOhost Integration Toolkit, make it simple for users to view and copy from the Topics, Searching, and Browse by Category pages. These links are easy to add to a hospital or internal web portal, e-mail to colleagues, or insert into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to facilitate simple referential linking. They are based on common URL Syntax, and can support multiple methods of authentication. They can also be created to search and retrieve dynamic searches.

The cookies requirement has been eliminated, to facilitate uninterrupted searching of DynaMed full text for those networks that do not allow cookies. Print functionality for the CME form is also now available.

DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other healthcare professionals for use primarily at the 'point-of-care'. With clinically-organised summaries for nearly 3,000 topics, the tool is claimed to be the only evidence-based reference shown to answer most clinical questions during practice. Updated daily, DynaMed monitors, evaluates and integrates the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services.
