EDP Sciences has announced that Isabelle Auffret-Babak has joined the editorial team as Publishing Editor. She will primarily focus her efforts on the development of 4open, one of EDP Sciences’ flagship journals supporting open science. Additionally, she will support experienced colleagues in growing EDP Sciences’ journals and collection of books in physics, especially in the areas of atomic and molecular physics and optics.
Isabelle Auffret-Babak comes to EDP Sciences after more than 18 years at IOP Publishing (Bristol, UK) where she occupied various positions. She started as Publishing Editor, looking after the peer review process of manuscripts, and then became Publisher and later Executive Editor. These latter two roles required Isabelle to conceive strategies for the editorial development of journals, and, more broadly, provide input into the development of IOP Publishing’s journals portfolio.
Over the years, Isabelle was involved in several major projects dealing with data publishing, the switch between editorial systems, and the training of young scientists to write scientific papers to name but a few.
