EDP Sciences launches UN SDGs research collection on ScienceOpen to promote sustainable development goals -

Academic publisher EDP Sciences has partnered with ScienceOpen to curate and present a research collection focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The EDP Sciences: UN SDGs research collection, recently launched on ScienceOpen, provides easy access to open access research articles, special issues, books, and conference proceedings that align with the SDGs.

As a signatory of the UN SDG Publishers Compact since 2022, EDP Sciences has been actively working on fulfilling the ten commitments outlined by the Compact. These commitments include actively promoting and acquiring content that advocates for themes represented by the SDGs, such as equality, sustainability, justice, and environmental preservation.

The EDP Sciences: UN SDGs research collection features interdisciplinary research from seven journals, including BIO Web of Conferences and E3S Web of Conferences, as well as a selection of open access books. The collection covers a wide range of research areas relevant to the SDGs, such as aquaculture, social-ecological systems, renewable energy, photovoltaics, sustainability, natural sciences, life sciences, sociology, engineering, energy conservation, policy issues, education for a sustainable environment, climatology, and soil sciences.

To further showcase its commitment to the SDGs, EDP Sciences has launched a dedicated webpage for the UN SDG Publishers Compact. This webpage serves as a central hub for initiatives, news, and developments related to EDP Sciences' involvement in the Compact. Notably, three journals, Renewable Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Sustainable Buildings, and EPJ Photovoltaics, have formally pledged their commitment to the SDGs.

The new webpage will be regularly updated to reflect ongoing work across EDP Sciences. Readers and stakeholders are encouraged to visit the webpage to learn more about EDP Sciences' SDG-related initiatives and can provide feedback, suggestions, or inquiries via the dedicated email address, sdg@edpsciences.org.

EDP Sciences continues to demonstrate its dedication to promoting research that contributes to the global efforts toward achieving the SDGs. Through collaborations and initiatives like the EDP Sciences: UN SDGs research collection and the UN SDG Publishers Compact, the publisher aims to drive meaningful change and make a positive impact on the sustainable development agenda.
