EIFL renews agreement with De Gruyter, expanding access to journals and open access publishing -

Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) has announced the renewal of its partnership with the academic publisher De Gruyter for an additional two years, extending the agreement until December 31, 2026. This collaboration offers free and discounted access to De Gruyter’s extensive journal collection, along with free or reduced-cost Open Access (OA) publishing options for authors in EIFL partner countries.

The renewed agreement provides reading access to a collection of over 450 journals, including highly cited titles such as Nanophotonics, Reviews in Chemical Engineering, and Applied Rheology. Researchers and institutions in 30 EIFL partner countries will benefit from this free or discounted access, facilitating wider dissemination of academic knowledge and fostering research collaboration.

Additionally, corresponding authors from all 37 EIFL partner countries can take advantage of free Open Access publishing in over 50 De Gruyter journals participating in the Subscribe to Open (S2O) model. Furthermore, the agreement offers free or discounted Article Processing Charges (APCs) for De Gruyter’s gold open access and hybrid journals in select countries.

This initiative aims to support equitable access to scholarly research and promote the global visibility of authors from developing and transition economy countries. By reducing financial barriers to both reading and publishing, EIFL and De Gruyter are contributing to a more inclusive academic landscape.

EIFL continues to champion affordable access to academic resources, ensuring that researchers worldwide can benefit from high-quality publications and share their work globally.
