The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and JMIR Publications, a leading open-access publisher in digital health research, have entered into an agreement granting TU/e faculty and affiliated researchers unlimited open-access publishing rights across JMIR’s complete journal portfolio. Under this landmark two-year arrangement, beginning July 1, 2025, all article processing charges (APCs) will be covered by a flat fee managed by TU/e, removing financial barriers and simplifying the publication workflow for corresponding authors.
This collaboration aligns with TU/e’s commitment to open science and global knowledge dissemination, enabling researchers to share their work broadly without concern for per-article fees. The agreement is designed to streamline the publishing process under open-access licenses and enhance the visibility, impact, and reach of university research through seamless collaboration between TU/e and JMIR.
JMIR Publications noted that this foundational agreement with TU/e marks its first institutional partnership in the Netherlands and reflects a shared dedication to transforming scholarly communication and accelerating the spread of high-quality research in digital health and related fields. Both parties will collaborate to ensure a smooth implementation process for authors and continue to promote open science principles.
