Ex Libris, a division of Clarivate, has announced that the Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library Consortium (eLABa) has chosen Ex Libris Alma and Primo to be implemented across their extensive network of libraries nationwide.
After fostering a fruitful partnership with Ex Libris over the years, the eLABa consortium has decided to transition from their current Ex Libris Aleph and SFX products to the advanced Alma library services platform. With more than 40 libraries spread across Lithuania, this move to Alma will empower the libraries to work with a shared catalog, benefit from centralized content and configuration management, while still preserving the unique identity and requirements of each independent institution.
Alma, a cloud-based library services platform, is specifically designed to cater to individual institutions as well as large consortia and networks operating with complex and unique needs and requirements.
The eLABa consortium has also chosen to extend their use of Primo, their existing discovery interface, to maintain their patron-facing services, ensuring that students and users continue to enjoy a seamless search and browse experience. With Primo's intuitive search interface and advanced relevance ranking algorithms, eLABa can guarantee that users can swiftly find the materials they need, regardless of format or location.
This strategic collaboration between eLABa and Ex Libris represents a significant step forward in enhancing the efficiency and visibility of library collections while providing comprehensive support to librarians.Click here to read the original press release.
