eLife appoints Yamini Dalal as Deputy Editor to lead Cell and Molecular Biology Submissions -

eLife, the innovative open-access journal, has announced the appointment of Yamini Dalal as its newest Deputy Editor.

Having previously served as a Reviewing Editor for eLife, Dalal steps into her new role alongside Deputy Editors Detlef Weigel, Diane Harper, Mone Zaidi, and Timothy Behrens, working closely with Editor-in-Chief Michael Eisen.

In her capacity as Deputy Editor, Dalal will play a pivotal role within eLife's editorial leadership team, collaborating with staff to manage submissions in the field of cell and molecular biology. A particular emphasis will be placed on advancing research related to cancer.

An advocate of eLife's groundbreaking publication model, which eliminates the traditional accept/reject decision following peer review, Dalal is enthusiastic about the approach. Under this model, all invited preprints are published on the eLife website as Reviewed Preprints, accompanied by an eLife assessment and public reviews. These assessments employ a standardized vocabulary to convey the significance of findings and the strength of supporting evidence in a clear and consistent manner.
