Elsevier and Australasian Research Management Society recognize talented young scientists at Scopus award ceremony -

STM publisher Elsevier and the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) recognized the academic research achievements of 17 young scientists at the 5th Scopus Young Researcher of the Year Awards.

The award ceremony, held at the National Convention Centre and in conjunction with the ARMS 2014 annual conference, was attended by guests representing Australia's and New Zealand's scientific community. Guest of honour Professor Aidan Bryne, Chief Executive Officer of the Australia Research Council, presented the awards.

With the Scopus Young Researcher of the Year Award, Elsevier supports early career researchers in their quest to advance science across multiple disciplines. The awards also recognize the contributions made by the Australasia research community to the global scientific landscape.

The 2014 Scopus Young Researcher of the Year Awards attracted high-quality submissions from across Australia and New Zealand, and were evaluated by independent panels of subject experts for each of the award categories. Elsevier provided quantitative analyses using data from Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
