Elsevier announces publishing deal with Geologists' Association -

STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced a publishing partnership with the UK-based Geologists' Association. Under the deal, Elsevier will assume publication of the official journal of the Association, Proceedings of the Geologists' Association, starting January 2009.

The first volume of the journal was published in 1859, one year after the Association was formed. Presently the journal is being published in one volume of four issues per year. It incorporates original research and review papers on all aspects of geology, publishes reports of field meetings, correspondence relating to previously published articles, short communications and timely book reviews. It is expected that the new publishing deal will enable the journal to reach a wider audience of geologists around the world. Authors will benefit from Elsevier's EES, online submission and peer review.

Members of the Geologists' Association will be able to choose between the print or electronic edition of the journal. In addition members will have access to the complete digital archive of the journal going back to Volume 1 issue 1.
