Elsevier announces winners of LIBER Award for Library Innovation -

STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, and LIBER, the Association of European Research Libraries, have announced the winners of the first-annual LIBER Award for Library Innovation. Awards will be presented at the 2010 LIBER Annual Conference in Aarhus, Denmark on June 29, 2010 (http://www.liber2010.eu).

Sponsored by Elsevier, the award is designed to recognise innovative work with the potential to impact the wider library community. The winners will present their papers during the conference. This year’s inaugural award is related to the overall theme of the LIBER Annual conference ‘Re-inventing the Library: Challenges in the New Information Environment.’

The Stichting LIBER Foundation aims to assist research libraries in Europe to support a functional network across national boundaries in order to ensure the preservation of the European cultural heritage, to improve the access to collections in European research libraries, and to provide more efficient information services in Europe. It actively promotes co-operation with all library-related organisations and has strong links with the Council of Europe, the Commission of the European Communities (CEC), SPARC Europe and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), as well as with national library associations.
