Elsevier appoints Stuart Whayman as President of Corporate Markets -

Elsevier, a global leader in scientific information and analytics, has announced the appointment of Stuart Whayman as President of Corporate Markets. Effective immediately, Whayman will lead Elsevier’s global business operations focused on delivering advanced scientific and technical information, data, and decision-support solutions to R&D-driven organizations across industries such as pharmaceuticals and chemicals. He will report directly to Kumsal Bayazit, CEO of Elsevier.

Since joining Elsevier in 2014, Mr. Whayman has held several leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Commercial Officer. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of the Researchers and Librarians business segment, where he oversaw a global, cross-functional team supporting academic research institutions. His leadership was instrumental in developing innovative solutions for researchers, leveraging generative AI, trusted content, and extensive data sets.

Before joining Elsevier, Mr. Whayman held senior finance roles within RELX, Elsevier’s parent company, and RBI, now part of LexisNexis Risk. His tenure with the group began in 1998, providing him with over two decades of industry expertise.

In his new role, Mr. Whayman will also continue his commitment to sustainability as the Executive Sponsor of Elsevier’s Climate Action Program and Co-Chair of the Climate Advisory Board. These initiatives reflect his dedication to integrating environmental considerations into corporate strategies.

This appointment underscores Elsevier’s commitment to advancing innovation and sustainability while maintaining its position as a trusted partner for scientific and technical advancement.
