Elsevier to feature Clinical Solutions for ‘Empowering Knowledge, Enabling Action’ at HIMSS15 -

STM publisher Elsevier will demonstrate its suite of solutions for enabling healthcare providers to make informed and impactful decisions at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Chicago, IL, April 12-16, 2015.

At Booth #2207, Elsevier Clinical Solutions will feature a range of clinical reference and workflow solutions for patient engagement, clinical decision support, performance management and ICD-10 transition.

Elsevier will also highlight its relationship with Tonic Health’s simple, fun and intuitive patient data collection platform that providers can customise for a variety of use cases. At the Elsevier booth at 10 am CT on April 14, Dr. Pamela Duncan, Director of Innovations and Transitional Outcomes at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, will discuss how she developed a chronic care management screener using Tonic’s flexible platform.

HIMSS will honour Michelle Troseth, Chief Professional Practice Officer for Elsevier Clinical Solutions, with its Nursing Informatics Leadership Award at HIMSS15. With more than 25 years of experience co-designing and implementing evidence-based practice and technology infrastructures to support patient-centered care and inter-professional integration at the point of care, Troseth has been at the forefront of nursing informatics innovation.

Elsevier is also extending its involvement at HIMSS15 through a number of events. Michelle Troseth will present TIGER Track: Understanding the ‘I’ in TIGER from 2:30 – 3:30 pm on April 15 in Room S403. This session will explore the nuts and bolts of the TIGER (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) initiative. Dr. Jonathan Teich, Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Elsevier Clinical Solutions, will present, Managing Patient Information During a Mass Casualty Incident from 4 – 5 pm CT on April 14. Dr. Teich will share information systems challenges and lessons learned by an emergency department that received 40 patients immediately after the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and the changes put in place to address such incidents in the future. Dr. Teich will also speak on a related topic, The Next Disaster: Are You Prepared?, from 10 – 10:30 am CT on April 14, in the North Bldg, Booth 7678, Theatre A.

Deborah Neville, Director of Revenue Cycle Coding & Compliance for Elsevier Clinical Solutions, will run e-sessions on Data Analytics 101 from 8 am – 5 pm CT on April 13-16. These sessions are targeted specifically to managers who must rely on accurate data to make daily or strategic decisions. The sessions will help participants understand how to select and manipulate data, methods of presentation, and how analyzed data is used by hospitals to make thoughtful organisational decisions.

Elsevier Clinical Solutions’ Jukka Valimaki, Vice President for Patient Engagement, and Claire Winiarski, Product Manager – Patient Engagement, will join officials from IMS Health to talk about Digital Dialogues in A Secure mHealth Solution for Remotely Monitoring Heart Failure Patients from 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM CT, on April 14, at Booth 4891, the Health IT Value Suite.
