Academic publisher Emerald Publishing is celebrating the top 20 international academic institutions with the highest downloads of its eJournal content for the 6th consecutive year.
The Emerald High Usage Awards celebrate the relationship between Emerald and each winning institution; all of which have access to a growing collection of over 300 journals covering business and management research, and including a wide range of other subject areas Emerald specializes in, including health and social care; education; and engineering.
Universiti Teknologi MARA is once again the institution with the highest number of eJournal downloads, with over 960,000 throughout 2016. The Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) Data Centre - the world's largest digital library - is a new entry, straight in at number two with over 440,000 downloads; and this year, Universiti Utara Malaysia features at number three, with almost 300,000 downloads.
Along with the EKB Data Centre, Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the University of the West of England are newcomers to the high usage list, featuring at second, ninth, fifteenth and seventeenth, respectively.
Along with the top three institutions located in Malaysia and Egypt, institutions from the UK; Australia; United States of America; Indonesia; Pakistan and Thailand have also won an Emerald High Usage Award.
