Emerald Group Publishing to be media partner of the first World Research and Innovation Congress -

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing Limited, UK, has announced that it is the media partner of the first 'World Research and Innovation Congress (WRIC) – Pioneers in Healthcare.' The event is scheduled to be held from June 5-6, 2013, at Steigenberger Grand Hotel in Brussels. The two-day event is expected to bring together over 500 of the world's top scientific health professionals to discuss future challenges and strategies on the key issues facing health research today.

The Congress offers ground breaking sessions and unique opportunities to shape the future of healthcare through innovation and collaboration. Among them, a presentation by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the community founded by Tim Berners-Lee, will uncover for the first time "the Development of semantic web standards to improve the use of clinical data." This pioneering session will explain the process that is set to have a major impact on the way we deal, store and share clinical data.

Funding will also feature highly on the agenda. In particular, a number of sessions and panel discussions will enable international funding agencies to present their plans to tackle the 'Grand Challenges' in healthcare.

With over 50 countries represented in total, the Congress is set to have a truly global scope and facilitate engagement, learning and collaboration among the many academics, researchers, and NGOs attending.
