Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing Limited, UK, has announced the appointment of Ang Eng Guan as Regional General Manager of Asia Pacific, covering the regions of China, Australasia, Malaysia and Japan. Based in Singapore, Eng Guan will focus on strengthening Emerald's sales support to new and existing customers in the region, as well as developing regional specific content and partner strategies.
Eng Guan will head a growing team in the region, with new offices in Melbourne, Australia and in Shanghai, China. Emerald's current Malaysian office will relocate to new premises in Selangor and will operate as a subsidiary of Emerald Group Publishing Limited from 2011.
Eng Guan has held various business and management positions in the information and publishing industry. His most recent position was Sales Director of a leading credit risk and information firm where he grew new businesses through the team in seven offices across APAC. Prior to that, he was Sales Director with Taylor Francis Asia Pacific, where he built and led a strong team to support a rapidly growing business in this dynamic region.
