Emerald names Dr Jim Jansen as new Editor of Internet Research journal -

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing, UK, has announced the appointment of Dr Jim Jansen, Associate Professor of Information Sciences and Technology at Pennsylvania State University, as the new Editor of Internet Research. The publication is an international, refereed journal that aims to describe, assess and foster understanding of the role of wide-area, multi-purpose computer networks such as the Internet.

Dr Jansen brings a wealth of experience to Internet Research, which is now its 21st volume. Ranked on Thomson Reuters, the journal registers downloads of over 100, 000 articles per year and continues to present cutting-edge international research findings with multi-disciplinary perspectives.

Dr Jansen is an associate professor with the College of Information Sciences and Technology at The Pennsylvania State University. His research interests focus on the uses and affordances of the Web for information searching and ecommerce, with emphasis on the interaction between the person and the technology.

Dr Jansen succeeds Prof. David G. Schwartz of Bar Ilan University, Israel, who has been with the journal since 1998. The change of Editorship takes place with immediate effect.
