Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing, UK, has announced the appointment of Professor Amanda Spink as editor of Aslib Proceedings, one of Emerald's information science titles standing alongside Journal of Documentation and the Emerald Library and Information Science Book Series.
Professor Spink, Chair of Information Science at Loughborough University, UK, has been noted as an intellectual leader for Library and Information Science and for having the second highest citation h-index in the field for 2004-2008. Her research focuses on developing theories and models of information behaviour. She has published more than 340 publications and six books. She has over 20 years' experience in information science in the United States, Australia and the UK.
She succeeds Professor David Nicholas of University College London, who edited the journal for over a decade and was responsible for several innovations including widening the focus of the journal to include emphasis on journalism and new media areas. The change of Editorship will be effective from the 2012 volume onwards.
