Emerald Publishing has launched an updated version of its Emerald Insight platform, introducing a redesigned interface intended to offer improved accessibility, usability, and sustainability for a global academic audience. The upgrade serves as a centralized access point for over 400 journals, 7,000 books, 3,000 case studies, and a growing corpus of open access content.
The new platform will consolidate all Emerald Publishing content, including materials from the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) Publishing portfolio, which was integrated following its acquisition by Emerald in May 2023.
Developed in partnership with Silverchair, the updated platform reflects an effort to address evolving expectations among researchers and institutions. The redesign is positioned as a foundational step in an ongoing process to offer greater flexibility to users navigating both subscription-based and open research environments. According to the organization, the development approach was informed by the increasing demand for adaptable tools that accommodate a wide range of scholarly needs.
Silverchair, which collaborated with Emerald in developing the platform, emphasized the shared objective of facilitating access to essential research while supporting long-term adaptability and relevance for authors, institutions, and readers across the research ecosystem.
