Emerald recognises and rewards research excellence -

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing has announced the winners of the 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. Now in its 23rd year, this awards programme is one of the largest, independent award schemes run by a publishing company – recognising and rewarding the outstanding contributions of the Emerald Literati Network to scholarly research.

This year, over 2,000 authors and reviewers have been rewarded for their high quality research and commitment to their academic field. The judging criteria included internationality; diversity; support for scholarly research; encouragement of applied research (impact); commitment to high quality scholarship; and a desire to ensure reader, author and customer experience is the best it can be.

Winning and highly commended authors have been selected by Emerald's journal and book series' editorial boards, who look for research which demonstrates rigour and relevance as well as contributing something new to their field. Outstanding reviewers have also been acknowledged, as Emerald recognises that their effort and dedication is paramount to publishing research that helps its communities make important decisions.

In order to celebrate the hard work undertaken by authors and reviewers, all 580 winning research papers will be free to access until January 2017. The 1,218 highly commended papers are free to access until the end of May 2016. The full list of winners and access to the winning papers is available at http://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/authors/literati/awards.htm?year=2016.
