Academic and professional literature publisher Emerald Group Publishing Ltd., UK, has announced the African launch of Emerald Backfiles at the Southern African Online Information Meeting, to be held at the CSIR Conference Centre in Pretoria, South Africa, from June 3-5, 2008.
Emerald will release the digitisation of the full archive of its journal titles in business, management, library and information services, materials science, and engineering. Working with the British Library, more than 60,000 articles, some going back to the 1800s, are now in PDF format and available electronically for the first time.
Visitors are invited to celebrate the launch of Emerald Backfiles on June 5th at Stand 2. Emerald Backfiles offer a useful historical perspective on the evolution of management theory over the past decades, which continues to inform today's research. Company representatives, Peter Shelley and Katy Oddy, will demonstrate Emerald Backfiles during the event. Also, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss how this digitalised full archive of Emerald journals can benefit institutions.
