National University (NU) has signed an agreement with academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing. Under the deal, Emerald will publish the University's Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching (JRIT&L).
JRIT&L has been published for almost a decade by National University, a California-based private non-profit university that has among the Top Ten largest schools of education in the nation, the Sanford College of Education. JRIT&L is an annual peer-reviewed academic journal which aims to collect and disseminate advanced research on teaching and learning.
As part of the agreement with National University, Emerald will provide essential publishing services for JRIT&L, including the provision of an online submission system for articles, copy editing, proofreading and Open Access publication of the journal on its EmeraldInsight.com platform.
Emerald will not only provide additional publishing and marketing support to further promote JRIT&L, but will also create a community website for JRIT&L authors and subject experts and provide support for an annual conference.
Emerald Publishing Services is a third-party publishing program for research dissemination, with journal content published as Open Access on its dedicated research platform. Emerald is also able to support partners with a range of services that help convert peer-reviewed papers into professional publications both in print and online. This is important for National University because of its vision to publish research on teaching and learning that will influence educational policies and teaching and learning practices.
JRIT&L publishes original research articles by National University faculty, while also welcoming submissions from outside the University, and is focused on new, effective instructional approaches and methods.
JRIT&L has a particular focus on innovative methodologies and technologies applied primarily in higher education, to improve educational practice and enhance student learning outcomes.
