The Emergency Nurses Association has selected Dr. Jessica Castner as the new editor-in-chief of the Journal of Emergency Nursing, the association's official publication.
Castner is an experienced researcher who has authored dozens of articles, studies, editorials and other publications on healthcare topics of importance to emergency nursing, such as the use of emergency healthcare and the impact of environment on respiratory health. She joined the Journal as a peer reviewer in 2012 and has served on its editorial board and as associate editor in recent years. Castner's new role begins April 1.
Castner is the president and founder of Castner Incorporated, an independent research institute. Her career background includes teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and as an instructor for ENA's two key educational courses - Trauma Nursing Core Course and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course.
