The peer‑reviewed, open‑access Endocrinologia Journal, published by the Bulgarian Society of Endocrinology, has transitioned to ARPHA, the publishing platform developed by Pensoft. Established in 1996, the journal covers research in endocrinology and metabolic disorders, publishing review articles in Bulgarian and original papers and case reports in both Bulgarian and English. Print issues are released quarterly, while online articles are published upon final approval and formatting.
Publication in the journal remains free for authors, supported by the Bulgarian Society of Endocrinology.
ARPHA introduces a refreshed design and provides a fast‑track, end‑to‑end publishing system. Manuscripts move through review, editing, publication, dissemination, and archiving entirely within ARPHA’s collaborative online environment. Articles are available in PDF and machine‑readable XML formats, ensuring discoverability, accessibility, citation, and reuse.
The journal is indexed in Scopus, CrossRef, EMBASE, and the Bulgarian Citation Index, with archiving through CLOCKSS and Zenodo.
Editor‑in‑Chief Professor Maria Orbetzova noted that the introduction of an online submission platform would improve management of publishing activities and help the journal meet international standards for integration into scientific databases.
Professor Lyubomir Penev, founder and CEO of Pensoft and ARPHA, stated that Endocrinologia Journal brings a longstanding tradition of endocrinology research to Pensoft’s portfolio. He emphasized that ARPHA provides authors, reviewers, and editors with tools to publish efficiently and extend the journal’s reach.
