Entries now open for 2012 PROSE Awards -

The Association of American Publishers has announced that entries are now being accepted through October 31 for the 2012 PROSE Awards, the American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence.

The PROSE Awards, one of the most prestigious programs honoring works in professional and scholarly publishing, launches its 37th season having enjoyed record numbers of submissions for the past four years including 512 entries from 65 different publishing organisations in 2011.

The PROSE Awards accepts submissions in more than 40 categories for books, reference works, journals and electronic products. Publishers that are members of AAP or the Association of American University Presses are eligible to enter. Submissions are judged by a 14-person panel of peer publishers, librarians and academics and are evaluated based on depth of scholarship, contribution to the field of study, significance of the work and excellence in content and design. Complete entry information is on the PROSE Awards website.

Winners will be announced at a luncheon ceremony during the AAP Professional and Scholarly Publishing (PSP) Annual Conference on February 7, 2013 in Washington, DC. The ceremony will be live-streamed and feature many new elements recognising the diversity of the professional and scholarly publishing community.
