International scholarly publisher Brill has launched the prestigious reference work Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit Online. The Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit is an authoritative work on the political, social, economic, religious, and cultural history of the Early Modern Period (1450-1850). The print version was previously published by J.B. Metzler Verlag, Stuttgart, Germany.
The Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit is available on Brills' Reference Works platform. It includes 3,500 entries from A-Z, 1,500 illustrations, and is a collaborative work of over 1,300 renowned authors.
The easy to navigate online edition allows users to explore the content in various ways. This includes full text search; keyword search; advanced search; navigate cross-references via hyperlinks; social book marking tools; and star and label tools.
Alongside the German version, the English translation, Encyclopedia of Early Modern History, will be available online over time, with the first English articles published in late 2014. Both versions, as well as updates for the next ten years, are included in the price.
The Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit Online will be officially presented at the Bibliothekartag in Bremen in June 2014. Early in 2015, the first print volumes of the English translation of the encyclopedia will be published by Brill and offered separately.
