ESTRO names new editors-in-chief for phiRO journal -

The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) has announced the appointment of Barbara Knäusl and Timothy Solberg as the new Editors-in-Chief of Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology (phiRO).

Barbara Knäusl is a Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate and Medical Physicist at the Medical University of Vienna’s Department of Radiation Oncology. Her expertise includes image guidance, adaptive treatment strategies, ion beam therapy, dosimetry, and precision radiotherapy. She has been associated with phiRO as an Associate Editor since 2023.

Timothy Solberg serves as Clinical Professor and Senior Advisor on Advanced and Emerging Technology at the University of Washington (USA). His academic and clinical background spans radiation therapy physics, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), motion management, adaptive radiotherapy, and proton therapy. He previously held the role of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP).

ESTRO also acknowledged the contributions of Ludvig Muren and Daniela Thorwarth, who previously served as Editors-in-Chief of phiRO, recognizing their leadership during their tenure.
